The First Conscious Living Expo in November 2010 was successful in many more ways than even we had expected. We had nearly five-hundred visitors over the Friday and Saturday of our first-time event, and many of our vendors and presenters were pleased with the business and attention they received. We were literally astonished by all the support we had from our volunteers and our generous hosts at St. Stephens UMC. The open-hearted and loving contributions of many people went into the Expo’s production, and while there was plenty of chaos to go around, the experience was one of something truly magical and positive.
Since then, we at CLiO have been mostly involved in our personal lives, and little else. The experience of “too much to do with too little time to do it” overflowed like a boiling kettle, and it was about all we could do to stay healthy and maintain a regular meditation practice throughout the long snowy winter. After taking some time to wind down from the grueling spring school semester which finally finished for both of us (Dara is a university professor, and Richard a returning student), we have begun to consider planning our next big event for 2011.
Our next blog-posts ought to give some idea about where we think this is all headed, and what participation looks like. We will also update this site with audio and video material collected from CLX2010 that represent the best of what went on there. We didn’t get everything this time, but we got quite a bit of value.
We are very proud to be a part of the awakening consciousness movement in Oklahoma, and will continue to do our part to learn and grow and share what we have with everyone in the best way possible.
